Drew has been married for 40 years to his wife, Mary, who is also a bowhunter. Together they have 3 children (2 boys and a girl) and 5 grandchildren (3 girls & 2 boys). All of the boys are bowhunters and the girls dabble with it.

He and his wife live in Gorham, Kansas, which is located along Interstate 70 between Hays and Russell, in Russell County. Drew works as an electrical contractor (overhead power lines) and owns his own company, called Holler Electric, Inc.

Drew has hunted with a bow for more than 35 years, and in that time has taken whitetail, mule deer, elk, mountain lion, bear, moose, antelope, javelina, wild hogs, turkey, several exotics, rough fish and small game. Drew’s favorite animal to hunt is moose and claims that the species he’d most like to take is a caribou. He joined the KBA in 1991 and was elected to the EC in 1994 as the Northwest Representative, where he served until 2002. That year he was elected Vice-President, and then in 2006 he was elected President and served two terms in that office. He is now honored to serve as the organization’s Past President.

Outside of the KBA Drew serves as a senior member and measurer of the Pope and Young Club and is a Bowhunter Education instructor. He is also a member of the Physically Challenged Bowhunters of America, served as president for 13 years and still holds a seat on the Board of Directors.

The KBA has been, and still is, a major part of Drew’s life, and most of his best friendships were formed because of the KBA
